My name is Kate and I am currently in school to get my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus on Mental Health, as well as Spanish. I started as a Shelter Supervisor at our Community Shelter in April 2023. I was promoted to an Intake Coordinator at our Day Center in September 2023.

Family Promise helped me and my son over 10 years ago and I absolutely love what they do; that is what made me want to work with them. Assisting families and reassuring them that they have a support team is something I’ll always appreciate being a part of. I understand wholeheartedly that not one situation is the same, and we treat it as such.

I am passionate about making sure that everyone is heard. There’s a lot of stigma within the homeless and low income community and I believe that we need to break down that barrier and come together to end it. If each and everyone of us try our best to end homelessness, then families will have a better chance at having a life that they deserve.

In my free time, I like to play sports with my two boys, make crafts, watch movies, and play with our 3 kitties, who are all related! One of them is the mama, and the other two are her baby boys! I also enjoy attending church, spending time with family and practicing self care.

Role at Family Promise of Waukesha County

My position here at FPWC is to be the first point of contact for people reaching out for assistance. I process contact forms, Coordinated Entry Assessments and in-home Habitability visits. Meeting the families in their own comfort place makes me feel honored to be in this position.
