10 Ways to Get Involved with FPWC

MAKE A MEAL
Every Wednesday, volunteers can sign up to provide a meal to the families in the Apartment Shelter Program.

SHELTER CLEANING
On an as needed basis, we are seeking volunteers to help us clean our apartment shelter and our community shelter after a family moves on from our program. All cleaning supplies are provided.

SORTING DONATIONS
On an as needed basis, we are seeking volunteers to help us organize and sort through donations we receive. This would occur at our Day Center.

JOIN THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OR LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE
Joining the board of trustees or a leadership committee is an opportunity to actively contribute to the organization's direction and impact.

IDENTIFY LANDLORDS
We specifically need landlords who are willing to rent to our clients and one willing to allow us to use an apartment for the Apartment Shelter Program in Oconomowoc.

CONDUCT A DRIVE
Conduct a drive at your business for hygiene, cleaning, or school supplies. Sign-up Here

PROVIDE MAINTENANCE
Provide light maintenance at our day center or apartment shelter program.

OFFER PRO BONO LEGAL ADVICE
Offer pro bono legal advice for families going through an eviction.

BECOME A FP DRIVER FOR CLIENTS
Transport FP clients to approved destinations and appointments.

ORGANIZE FURNITURE AND HOUSEHOLD DONATIONS
Assist in organizing larger furniture and household donations.

The online training platform offers modules for volunteers to learn about Family Promise, homelessness and best practice to care for those who have had a traumatic experience.
THIS TRAINING IS REQUIRED FOR THOSE WHO ARE DRIVING FOR THE EOS PROGRAM.
Criminal Background Check

THE TRAINING PROGRAM
All volunteers must have completed a criminal background check within the past 18 months. This is a requirement to best protect vulnerable children in our program.
Driving Record Check

Those who volunteer to drive must have a driving check completed to ensure a clean driving record.
Volunteer Drivers are also asked to attend a volunteer orientation

The Shelter Census will be updated with changes. This will help you determine the amount of food you will need to provide.
