OUR SHELTER PROGRAMS

APARTMENT SHELTER PROGRAM

The Apartment Shelter Program is a non-congregate  program that utilizes single family apartments to provide shelter to families with minor children. Each unit houses one family. Families in the program start with a thirty day stay that can be extended to a maximum of ninety days. The non-congregate Apartment Shelter Program encourages independence and responsibility while allowing a family an opportunity to maintain their routine. An apartment feels like home and provides a sense of normalcy to parents and children alike.

This is not only a shelter but a program families partake in - the family works with a Family Advocate to secure permanent housing as soon as possible.  Each family also develops a set of SMART goals that they aim to achieve while in the program. These can include but are not limited to, obtaining a drivers license, obtaining their birth certificate, obtaining car insurance and much more! The Family Advocate also provides referrals and transportation to wraparound services like mental health evaluation/treatment, physicals/immunizations, childcare/school enrollment, employment search/prep/retention, and more.
