Shayla Carey

I am a Family Advocate here at Family Promise of Waukesha County.

I went to college at George Williams College in Lake Geneva, WI and received my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. I currently attend Aurora University pursuing my master’s degree in Social degree. 

​

Prior to working at Family Promise I worked in the healthcare sector for over 20 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant. I worked in the retail field as a Supervisor and Manager. 

 

In all the work I have done my key focus was being a support to others and through my work as a CNA for 25 years I learned my passion is to help others in any capacity that I am able to. 

 

I enjoy traveling, spending time with family and friends, cooking is a way to meet self care needs for me and self care in general is very important for me!
