Building Housing Stability for Families in Waukesha County

Family Promise of Waukesha County is dedicated to constructing an apartment building featuring 10 fully equipped apartments to serve as shelter and transitional housing. By opening this building, we will increase the number of families we are able to serve by 50%, significantly expanding our impact in the community.

Historically, the majority of families we assist are experiencing homelessness for the first time. In fact, 88% of the families who enter our shelter do not face homelessness again. Preventing families from falling into chronic homelessness is a significant achievement.

From an economic perspective, higher educational attainment is closely linked to increased lifetime earnings and a decreased dependence on public services, including emergency assistance, healthcare, and corrections. These outcomes provide substantial long-term economic benefits to the Waukesha community.

"My favorite day at Family Promise was our first day.  Just seeing my kids peacefully sleeping in a bed was really special.” - Angela, Previous Shelter Client
