SHELTER DIVERSION PROGRAM
WHAT IS SHELTER DIVERSION?
Shelter Diversion is a supportive program designed to help families avoid entering emergency shelter by finding safe, immediate, and stable alternatives to homelessness. Our goal is to keep families together, housed, and connected to long-term support systems.
WHO WE SERVE
We serve families who are facing a housing crisis, but have not yet entered an emergency shelter. If you're worried about where you’ll sleep tonight—or soon—we’re here to help.
We work with:
-
Families with children
-
Pregnant individuals
-
Single parents
-
Extended families facing eviction or sudden loss of housing
HOW SHELTER DIVERSION WORKS
We’ll work with you to create a personalized housing plan—focused on solutions, not shelter.
This may include:
-
Conflict resolution or mediation with family/friends you can stay with
-
Help with rent, deposits, or utility payments
-
Connecting to community resources for food, childcare, employment, and more
-
Short-term financial help or relocation assistance
-
Case management and housing navigation
We help you look at all your options and support you through the process—because no one should have to face housing instability alone.
