Our mission is to help low-income families and families experiencing homelessness achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response.

OFFICE CLOSED

Due to the golf outing our offices will be closed on July 25.

1. BID BY PROXY

Unable to attend the golf outing does not mean you have to miss out on these amazing live auction items. If you are interested you can bid on these wonderful items via proxy! If you are interested in using a proxy bid you would contact Joe Nettesheim by Monday at noon.

Text: 262-278-4868 or

Email: joe@familypromsiewaukeshawi.org

The items up for auction are:

One-week stay in a condo in Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Chef Inspired Dinner for up to 8 in your home

A round of golf for four at the Oconomowoc Golf Club

When contacting Joe, please let him know:

  • the item on which you wish to bid,

  • your maximum bid, and

  • credit card information

In the event that you win the item you will be charged that evening.

A volunteer would be assigned to represent you during the live auction. They will not bid more than your maximum bid and will try to obtain the item for you at the lowest amount over the minimum bid. To participate in the live auction with a proxy you are committing to the minimum bid for that item.

Thank you to all of our golf outing sponsors especially our lead sponsor Green Bay Packaging.

View all of our sponsors on our home page or in this photo album.

3. QUARTER 2 STATISTICS

In the second quarter of 2022 Family Promise of Waukesha County served the following:

Prevention:

Households 19

Individuals: 61

Children 36

Apartment Shelter Program

Households 6

Individuals 19

Children 13

Based on quarter two we are on pace to serve 100 households, 320 individuals and 200 children. To give this some context from November 2014 to December 2019 Family Promise of Waukesha County provided shelter to 101 families. While this comparison is a bit of comparing apples to oranges it does underscore the need that has arisen. Even though the majority of these households were for rent assistance we do believe that many of those families would have become homeless with our help.

"The opposite of poverty is not wealth. It is enough."

- Dr. Wes Stafford

4. WISH LIST

We have updated our wish list. Please check out our current needs.

We also have a couple of special needs for the Apartment Shelter. The vacuum in one of our Apartment Shelter units is broken. We would welcome a donation of a sturdy used vacuum that is effective or a new vacuum. We also would like to put a mattress protector on each bed. You can find both items on our new Apartment Shelter Amazon List.

5. MEAL VOLUNTEERS

We are in need of volunteers to help make meals the week of August 21. Volunteers are asked to make either an entree, veggie dish, dessert or to donate fruit, milk, or juice etc.

We hope you can let us know now if you can help either of those weeks.

Then on August 11, Maria will send a sign up genius to all volunteers with more specific needs.

We provide three meals to each family weekly. Partner congregations sign up for one- week and recruit volunteers. There was not a congregation available either of those weeks.

Our goal is to have volunteers ready to help now, so that when we get closer to the date we will send out the sign-up genius with specific needs. We wait to get closer to the date because our census can fluctuate.

If you have questions please contact Maria, 262-968-2321 ext 105 or
